Location: Foothill Ranch/Lake Forest. iTrader: ( 1) F30 335i Reliability. Guys, we have an F30 328i and wife drives that one and we both love it and its been nearly 99.9% reliable. I am thinking of adding a 3rd car and going with the F30 335i. Has there been any gremlins with engine or trans common to the 335i, in stock.
Car: 2014 BMW F30 335i RWD M Sport (Sport Suspension) - No modifications. I had my alignment done at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Auto Skills Center. They have a Hunter alignment machine and the price of an alignment is $60. (My guess is a BMW dealer would charge between $200-300 for an alignment).
1) Reattach connectors to Start Button & Insert Compartment, assuming BOTH of those components can be attached WITHOUT reinstallation to dash, so you have Ribbon Cable exposed, and components "Loose". 2) Connect INPA, open 'Discrete Hardware Input' screen; turn on "Ignition" with Remote Key inserted in slot.

4) Install and THUMB Tighten ONLY. 5) same procedure for OIL Cooler Gasket. 6) Wait like an hour, or for it to cure, follow recommended wait times according to Ultra Grey packaging. 7) Torque all Bolts to correct Torque Values, (DO NOT Over Tighten) 8) Wait 24 Hours before starting your car.
The problem is the other assembly called modulator and pump. I have only one car at the moment so I could not afford the downtime to research a repair. I purchased my unit from BMW of Minn for $940 which is the cheapest new part for this repair I could find. If you see my post on another members ABS post you will see the part numbers posted there.
dukedkt442. Cam cover (valve cover), oil pan, or rear main seal are the likely culprits for that oil leak. If oil can come out, air can go in, and you have a vacuum leak, which is likely pretty severe if you can hear it (the whistling). Another common source of the whistling is a bad PCV system, which is integral to the cam cover on the N52n
